So I wanted(needed 
) to play mpegs in opensuse 10.
Heres whatcha gotta do
add packman repository(s) to Yast
enable the REFRESH option on the packman repository(s)
Open up the software management window in yast
install the following (allow all dependancies):
win32codec-all
mplayer
mplayerplug-in
k3b-mad
k3b-artsd
note: getting mplayer installs codecs for all of xine, so kaffeine will play mpegs now! yea!

usefull for burning nrg images in k3b
one could prolly write a shscript to do it automagically
